Leadership - The Story

Since 1984, more than 1000 individuals have graduated from one or more of Leadership's programs.  Leadership LaPorte County is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization working toward the development of community leaders from all segments of LaPorte County. 

Leadership's professional programs are designed to meet the specific needs of different audiences including youth, persons new to LaPorte County, facilitators, and community residents wishing to enhance their own leadership skills while discovering community issues.  On the whole, Leadership provides participants with invaluable opportunities to:

• Discuss key issues with decision makers from: criminal justice, education, government, health care, community service and other areas of vital interest.
• Create a network of valuable community contacts and establish relationships with other community leaders.
• Build powerful personal leadership skills. Refine the tools necessary to transform knowledge into positive change on a personal, community, and organizational level.
• Grow and make a difference through involvement in the communities throughout LaPorte County.

The experiences provided through Leadership have a positive impact not only on the participants but also on their organizations and their communities. For many, Leadership has intensified a commitment to the community and encourage involvement in civic projects.
